Design Brief
Problem Statement
A module for making a remotely controllable night lamp.
Problem Description
My initial idea was a little complex, as it involved a RF module and Luciano told that it will definitely take at least a week for just debugging and getting the right connection. So I dropped the plan. My new idea is to make just a bluetooth controlled night lamp using a Attiny and a bluetooth module.
I am planning to make a lamp using an array of LED connected via a arduino/fabduino or a board I design and the on/off control will be enabled using a bluetooth module. I will control communicate the lamp from my mobile phone.
Constraints
Size : Can make it very compact as the circuitry can be made small and we only use a few LED's. But If the light is not bright enough I have to increase the no: of LED's and thus I will give provision for that too.
Weight : it shouldn't weigh more than 100gm.
Material : plan to have the body laser cut and assembled. The circuit to be milled and the components from the inventory.
Fabrication process : PCB-Testing-Case Designing
Budget
200 Rs
Time
Design of ckt board and the casing 1 day.
Fabrication of both half a day. Coding and interconnection along with coding 1 day. Debugging another half a day.
Solution analysis
Risks/benefits : As the LED's are powered from the board itself there is a limitation on increasing them as the power delivered is capped.
Benefit is that once the whole system is made its easily replicable and cheap.
